[...] Toni already announced it on her blog but I should announce here that the spring conference we are organizing now has a date. As we announced on the conference blog, the conference will be taking place on April 4th, hopefully, in the Wilson Hall auditorium. We are thrilled to also announce that Dr. Kristin Bluemel has agreed to be our keynote speaker. [...]

I recommend "The Female Brain" by Louanne Brizendine , which shows that
being "in love" is a function of certain chemical changes in the brain, which returns to its normal state after a couple of years or less.

Thus the feelings of being "in love" are always of limited duration.

All the more reason to savor these emotions while they're still there!!!

The "published and unpublished" collection was, for awhile, the main text for classroom instruction. Now that there are multiple Penguin printings of The Morgesons (same editors btw), the Penguin is the most common. The change is somewhat unfortunate; however, it is understandable that professors teaching The Morgesons will not likely have time in their schedule to teach more Stoddard, so, it does make sense that the Penguin prevails for pragmatic reasons. I think you will find, when you get to it, the selection "From "Our Lady Correspondent"'s Column, Daily Alta California" in the above collection quite interesting!

The Morgesons is on my "Summer 08" reading list. I saw a 400+ page edition (with additional "published and unpublished" material!) on Amazon under $5. I am looking forward to reading it after our conversations!
